Reinforced concrete – the ideal material for durable garages

Garages can be made or built from a wide variety of materials. In fact, there are even garages made of simple sheet steel or open carports made of wood. However, if you want a durable garage that can be securely locked, most people in Central Europe choose a solid garage. These are either built from masonry (bricks, sand-lime bricks, etc.), relatively rarely assembled on site from several concrete modules, or manufactured as a complete garage from reinforced concrete under professionally controlled conditions and then transported directly to the installation site as a prefabricated garage, where it can be set up (often in just one hour) with special vehicles or, in certain cases, with a crane, and is then ready for immediate use.

Bricks and reinforced concrete both last a very, very long time (there are still Roman buildings today that were built around 2000 years ago from a precursor material to today's concrete!). In fact, however, reinforced concrete has some very decisive advantages in comparison that need to be taken into account. On the one hand, the production of a precast reinforced concrete garage under industrial conditions in a specially equipped factory ensures that consistently high quality can be delivered – and that customers receive a garage that can be used immediately. On the other hand, this type of production offers cost advantages compared to manual bricklaying by construction experts on site. In addition, when purchasing a precast concrete garage such as those supplied by ZAPF, customers only have to deal with a single company, whereas a garage built on site requires the coordination of several trades.

A comprehensive comparison of these two “types” of garage can be found on the garage comparison page. More information on the specific advantages of precast concrete garages can also be found on the precast concrete garage page.
