Guidelines for drilling holes in ZAPF prefabricated garages
These instructions provide guidelines for safe drilling and installation in ZAPF prefabricated garages in order to avoid damaging the structure and to comply with safety standards.
- Drilling holes in walls:
- Drilling holes in closed side or rear walls is permitted.
- Maintain minimum distances: 75 cm from the top edge of the floor, 30 cm from the bottom edge of the ceiling, 45 cm from the door, 30 cm from the rear wall.
- Avoid drilling in areas marked in red (example in the data sheet).
- Assembly/fastening:
- The maximum drilling depth of 3 cm must not be exceeded.
- Use appropriate dowels for mounting.
- Check the length of screws and dowels before mounting.
- Drilling holes:
- Holes with a maximum diameter of 10 cm may be drilled.
- Avoid chipping by pressing against the opposite side of the hole with a piece of wood.
- Drilling from the outside in is recommended.
- First pre-drill with a small drill bit, then gradually increase the diameter.
- Drilling through the floor:
- Drilling through the garage floor is not permitted (could damage load-bearing reinforcement). Exceptions must be checked by ZAPF GmbH.
- Installation and supply line for wall boxes:
- Install charging stations for electric vehicles on the side or rear wall.
- Observe the specified distances.
- Use screws approx. 3 cm long.
- Run high-voltage cables through the wall (no drilling through the floor!).
- Avoiding damage:
- Use a rebar detector to avoid drilling into steel reinforcement and electrical cables.
- Always lay electrical cables vertically, leaving a 15 cm gap to the left and right of the cabling.
- Possible installations:
- Attach tyre holders/hooks and bicycle holders to the wall.
