Programming/pairing a ZAPF handheld transmitter

These instructions provide clear and simple step-by-step guidance on how to program a ZAPF handheld transmitter for garage door openers. They will help you connect the handheld transmitter to one or more door openers.

  1. Press the P button on the door opener:
    • Press the P button on the door opener for 4 seconds.
    • The ‘Door open’ symbol appears on the display.
  2. Press the P button again:
    • Press the P button twice in quick succession.
    • The WiFi symbol lights up on the display.
  3. Programming the ZAPF handheld transmitter:
    • Use a pointed object to briefly press the ‘programming button’ on the back of the handheld transmitter once.
    • The green LED light on the handheld transmitter flashes.
    • Press the desired button on the handheld transmitter once.
    • The red LED flashes.
  4. Completing the programming process:
    • Press the P button on the gate operator once.
    • The handheld transmitter is now programmed.

To program another gate operator with the same handheld transmitter:

  1. Steps for second gate operator:
    • Repeat steps 1 to 3 on the second gate operator.
    • Select a different button on the hand-held transmitter.
    • Press the P button on the second door opener.
    • The hand-held transmitter is now programmed for the second door opener.

Optional: Programming the ventilation position:

  1. P button for ventilation position:
    • Press the P button on the door opener for 11 seconds.
    • Select programme 1 (confirm once with the P button).
    • The display flashes.
    • Move the garage door to the desired ventilation position using the +/- buttons on the door drive.
    • Confirm once with the P button.
  2. Setting partial opening:
    • ‘Partial opening’ appears on the display.
    • Confirm once with the P button.
  3. Select programme 4:
    • Use the ‘+’ button on the door opener to switch to programme 4.
    • Confirm once with the P button.
    • The number 1 will light up on the display.
    • Confirm again with the P button.
  4. Set ventilation position on hand-held transmitter:
    • Briefly press the ‘programming button’ on the back of the hand-held transmitter once with a pointed object.
    • Press the desired button on the front of the hand-held transmitter once.
    • Press and hold the P button on the gate operator for 5 seconds.
    • The ventilation position is now programmed.
