Service life of a garage

The service life of a garage depends largely on the materials used. Simple wooden carports and similar structures can become dilapidated after just a few years if left untreated. Solid garages made of stone or concrete last much longer. The body of ZAPF prefabricated garages is therefore always made of high-quality concrete – which is exceptionally durable. This is impressively demonstrated by the fact that Roman buildings made of a concrete-like material still exist today, even though they were built around 2000 years ago! Very few garages will be in use for that long – but it's good to know what concrete is capable of.

Also good to know: If, after many years of use, the floor of a prefabricated concrete garage shows signs of spalling due to salt and grit ingress, or if minor damage is detected in other areas, all of this can be repaired relatively easily.

In fact, in all solid garages, it is the add-on and equipment parts (such as the roof coating or the door suspension) that influence the service life or need to be replaced and/or renovated at some point.
