Up-and-over door

The up-and-over door (also known as a lift door) is the classic garage door. Unlike a sectional door, the door “leaf” of an up-and-over garage door is a single piece and is “swinged” open and closed as a whole via a hinge – hence the name. Since the up-and-over door is somewhat easier to manufacture than a sectional door, it is usually also slightly cheaper – however, unlike the sectional door, the upward swing effect means that the upper interior area and the space directly in front of the garage can only be used to a limited extent.
