Maveo Connect Stick – Setup, Functions & Help

This article explains how to set up the Maveo Connect Stick, what functions it offers, and what you can do if you encounter problems.

The Maveo Connect Stick works with the following garage door openers:

How to check compatibility:

  1. Open the cover on the front of your drive
  2. Find the type plate
  3. The number after the letter “R” must be 10 or higher

Step-by-step setup

Requirements

  • Compatible garage door opener (see above)
  • Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz, not 5 GHz)
  • Smartphone with iOS 12+ or Android 9+
  • Wi-Fi reception at the location of the opener

Installation

Step 1: Insert the stick

  • Open the cover of your garage door opener
  • Insert the Maveo Connect stick into the designated port
  • The LED on the stick will start flashing

Step 2: Download the app

  • iOS: App Store → Search for “maveo”
  • Android: Google Play → Search for “maveo”
  • Install and open the app

Step 3: Create an account

  • Open the maveo app
  • Create a “my maveo account”
  • Confirm your email address

Step 4: Connect the stick

  • Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone
  • The app will find the stick automatically
  • Enter your Wi-Fi password
  • Wait until the connection is established

Step 5: Done

  • The stick is now connected to your Wi-Fi
  • You can control the garage door via the app.

Functions

Basic functions (without accessories)

  • Live status Display whether door is open/closed

  • Push notifications For every status change

  • Coming home Notification when you arrive (geofence)

  • Access authorization Assign up to 5 guest passes

Advanced functions (with light barrier)

  • Self-closing Door closes automatically after a set time

  • Safety stop Door stops when it encounters an obstacle

  • Note: A light barrier is required for the self-closing function.

Access authorization

You can give up to 5 additional people access to your garage:

  1. Open the maveo app
  2. Go to “Settings” → “Access authorization”
  3. Create a new guest pass
  4. Share the invitation link via text message or email

Important:

  • The recipient must install the maveo app
  • You can revoke access at any time
  • Guest users cannot invite other people

Common problems & solutions

Stick not found

Possible causes:

  • Bluetooth not activated on smartphone
  • Smartphone too far away from stick
  • Stick not inserted correctly

Solution:

  1. Activate Bluetooth
  2. Move closer to the drive (max. 2 meters)
  3. Remove the stick and plug it in again
  4. Close the app and reopen it

No Wi-Fi connection

Possible causes:

  • 5 GHz Wi-Fi (not compatible)
  • Weak Wi-Fi signal in the garage
  • Incorrect password entered

Solution:

  1. Check whether your router is transmitting a 2.4 GHz network
  2. Test the Wi-Fi reception with your smartphone at the drive
  3. If necessary, install a Wi-Fi repeater or powerline adapter
  4. Re-enter the Wi-Fi password

Door not responding

Possible causes:

  • Internet connection interrupted
  • App not up to date
  • Stick offline

Solution:

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Update the maveo app
  3. Check the status of the stick in the app
  4. Restart the garage door opener (power off/on)

Push notifications are not coming through

Solution:

  1. Check the notification settings on your smartphone
  2. Allow notifications for the maveo app
  3. Deactivate energy-saving mode for the app

Important information

Security

  • The connection between the app and the stick is encrypted
  • Do not share your Wi-Fi password with third parties
  • Revoke guest passes when they are no longer needed

Power failure

The Maveo stick does not work during a power failure. The garage door can then be unlocked and opened manually.

Offline use

The Maveo stick requires an internet connection. Pure offline control in the local network is not possible.

Smart home integration

The Maveo Connect stick only works with the maveo app. Integration into other smart home systems (Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, KNX) is currently not possible.
